Quincy Promes, the Spartak forward, recently discussed his latest video in which he speaks Russian while seated at a bar. The accompanying song is performed in Dutch.

Promes explained his goal: he hopes the melody resonates with Russian listeners even as the lyrics are Dutch. In the video, he experiments with acting, attempting to speak Russian with the bartender to create a Russian atmosphere and demonstrate to Dutch fans that Russia holds meaningful significance for him. He shared that his name is Anton and that he feels at home there, even when in another country.

Promes has been with Spartak since February 2021, marking a return to the club after previously playing for the Red and Whites from 2014 to 2018. During the 2016/17 season, the Netherlands native helped Spartak clinch the Russian championship. At present, he ranks as the team’s second-highest goalscorer this season, trailing only Malcolm of Zenit in the overall standings.

Looking ahead, Spartak is set to host CSKA on May 21 in the 28th round of the Russian Premier League, with kickoff scheduled for 16:30 Moscow time.

Earlier remarks described Promes as a midfielder with three words that could also describe Zenith’s Malcolm, underscoring the highs of competition within the league.
