News about Quincy Promes: former Spartak Moscow president shares commentary
A former president of Spartak Moscow, Andrey Chervichenko, commented on the reports that Spartak player Quincy Promes is facing drug trafficking allegations. The claims concern two shipments of cocaine seized in Antwerp in 2020. One batch reportedly included 720 kilograms of medicine and the other 650 kilograms.
Chervichenko said he has long found Promes to be a controversial figure. He even suggested that, in his view, it might be advantageous for Promes to secure citizenship elsewhere, noting that such topics can be highly relevant at the upper levels of sports administration. The former Spartak executive told sports24 he is not surprised by Promes’s alleged conduct.
In addition to the drug case, Promes was previously accused of stabbing his cousin in the summer of 2020. The incident resulted in a compensation order for the victim about a year later.
In early March, a court requested a two-year prison sentence for Promes. He did not attend the hearing due to professional obligations with Spartak Moscow, who were identified by their red and white kit color in this report.
On the field, Promes has contributed 25 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for Spartak during the current Russian Premier League season.
Former Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis publicly recommended watching the film Beware of the Car, mentioning Promes in the context of his broader career and media presence.
