Levante delivered a knockout blow to Albacete, while Alavés edged past Eibar, and both teams earned the right to meet again in a decisive doubles clash that will determine who advances to the First Division.
Las Palmas and Granada have already secured their spots in the top flight, leaving a single promotion berth to be claimed by four sides: Alavés, Eibar, Levante, and Albacete. The playoff format sets up two semi-finals in a doubles format, with the victors meeting in a final tie to seal promotion. If a match ends level, extra time will be played, and should the tie persist, the team with the better regular-season position will advance.
The semi-final round took place on Saturday, June 3. Eibar hosted Alavés in a match that finished 1-1, while Albacete and Levante produced a 1-3 result at Carlos Belmonte, granting Levante the advantage on the night.
The second leg round occurred on June 7 and 8. Levante defeated Albacete 3-0, winning 6-1 on aggregate and booking a place in the final. Alavés also progressed by beating Eibar 2-0 at Mendizorroza, securing a 3-1 aggregate win.
The two semi-final winners will contest the first leg of the grand final on June 11 at 9 p.m. The return leg follows at the same time on June 17. If regulation time does not produce a decisive result and there is no extra time, the promoted team will be revealed around eleven o’clock in the evening, completing Granada and Las Palmas’ ascent to the top tier of our football.
