Pavel Mamaev, a former CSKA Moscow midfielder, became the center of a controversy aboard a Flydubai flight from Moscow to Dubai. The report comes from the Telegram channel Mash, which detailed the events on board.
According to Mash, the incident began when flight attendants refused to expedite the delivery of a stroller to Mamaev. He was scheduled to travel from Vnukovo on the morning of January 10. After landing, the captain announced a technical malfunction in the aircraft, causing a delay that extended the departure time to 23:30.
As other passengers were disembarking, Mamaev insisted that he would not exit the cabin’s economy section until a stroller was provided. He directed a loud confrontation at the crew, using vulgar language in the process.
Mamaev’s most recent professional stint was with FC Khimki, a club near Moscow, which he joined in December 2021. Despite remaining with the squad briefly, he left after participating in a single match in 2022.
Since October 2018, Mamaev has been unable to compete professionally due to his imprisonment. In the same legal case, the Kokorin brothers along with their associate Alexander Protasovitsky faced charges tied to two separate fights in central Moscow. They were sentenced to real prison terms in May 2019. Mamaev and Protasovitsky received sentences totaling one year and five months in a general regime penal colony, while the Kokorin brothers were each sentenced to one and a half years. All defendants were released on parole in September 2019.
Earlier, Mamaev shared a photo from his hospital bed, offering a glimpse into his life beyond football and the ongoing legal proceedings. The public details of his personal and professional trajectory have continued to attract scrutiny in the media and among fans.
