Information
The Vega Baja duo took control from the opening whistle, pressing on the turf of the historic BeSoccer La Condomina stadium. UCAM Murcia responded to the early pressure, balancing the match as the first period wore on and the scoreline remained level between the two clubs.
Orihuela advanced again, probing for space near Zorro’s area, taking advantage of opportunities created by Revilla and Escobar in the early stages. Half an hour later, a one-on-one with Juanmi Callejón allowed the local keeper to intervene and preserve the stalemate.
First half chances belonged to the visitors, who pushed forward as the clock ticked toward the break. A breakaway effort by Jorge García was blocked, a miss that instead benefited Guilló’s squad as the half closed without a breakthrough.

In the opening minutes of the second period the best opportunity for the visiting side arrived as the clock wound down, with Jorge García breaking free in the area but failing to convert as Guilló’s men defended resolutely as the match stayed locked.
Goals are coming
After the break, Orihuela moved ahead following a well-worked sequence initiated by Juanmi Callejón, who sought to tilt the balance in favor of his team. The UCAM defense, coordinated by Aitor Arias, held firm in a two-step challenge to keep the score even at first.
Orihuela opened the scoring in the 53rd minute as Mendi wrestled the ball away from Zorro and slid it into the net. The Scorpions made clear their intent to protect a slim lead, preparing to defend relentlessly as they faced the rest of the match with confidence that a late equality was still within reach.
UCAM Murcia pressed forward, producing several dangerous bursts into the visiting half after conceding, but solid defending from the Alicante side kept the scoreline from tipping. Aitor Arias also produced crucial stops at the posts to prevent further damage.
With the rhythm intensifying as time ran out, the result remained uncertain. The locals searched for chances to secure a draw, mounting pressure but finding little to break through a determined defense on the other end.
Two minutes before the full-time whistle, Hamza arrived late in the second half and struck cleanly to restore the two-goal cushion. The finish sealed Orihuela’s victory, delivering three points and lifting the team into a comfortable mid-table position in the 4th group of the Second RFEF. The win kept them six points clear of the relegation zone and closed the gap to the playoff spots to a manageable margin.
