Alicante’s club has established itself as a prominent force in the league, having claimed two league titles to date and making its mark in adapted sports since joining in the 2021-22 season. The club has also captured the Spanish Cup championship. In the previous season, it finished as runner-up, falling to Los Leones de la Alhambra in the final.

Last August, as part of the pre-season finale, Xaloc Alacant Powerchair organized the Geneva Cup 2023, drawing teams from Switzerland, Scotland, Italy, and Belgium. Under the leadership of Jose Luis Ferre, the squad demonstrated strong engagement and momentum for the season ahead, aiming for a third consecutive league title.

On the league’s opening day, Los Leones de la Alhambra surged to the top with nine points following victories over Parla Powerchair (0-15), Córdoba Patrimony Atómicos (0-4), and Inter de Jaén (5-0). In this first round, the Alicante team did not play a match, as the event was staged at the Carlos Martínez Esteban pavilion in Jaén and the Adapting teams were preparing for the clashes to come. Other teams in the league matched up with varying results, underscoring the competitive pace of the season and the rising profile of powerchair football in Spain.

The Alicante round represents a key milestone in the ongoing season, with Xaloc Alacant striving to maintain its leadership position while other squads push to close the gap. The participating teams—Xaloc Alacant, Inter Jaén, Parla Powerchair, FDI Foundation, and Los Leones de la Alhambra—are all focused on advancing their tactics, enhancing team chemistry, and showcasing the sport’s evolving level of play. Fans are following closely as the league continues to expand its footprint across the country, highlighting the dedication of players, coaches, and supporters who keep powerchair football vibrant and competitive.
