Brazilian Moto3 rider Diogo Moreira, aboard a KTM, secured his first World Championship victory on the Indonesian circuit, finishing with authority as he dominated fellow rider David Alonso from Colombia and Spaniard David Muñoz. Alonso and Muñoz both climbed onto the podium from starting positions outside the top ten, with Muñoz benefiting from a strong late surge.
In the smaller-displacement category, the Spanish racer Jaume Masià, on a Honda, could not sustain his second-grid start and crossed the line in sixth place. The result narrows the gap to 16 points behind Ayumu Sasaki of Japan, who, after a crash on the formation lap, finished eighteenth and dropped to the back of the field.
Dani Holgado of KTM also faced a setback, receiving a double penalty for exceeding track limits late in the race. He fought his way into the points by finishing fourteenth, maintaining a narrow lead in the standings, now 17 points behind Algemesí.
Moreira took the lead as soon as the lights went out, with Alonso and Collin Veijer of the Netherlands close behind. Masià moved up from second to seventh in the early laps. By the second lap, Holgado had surged into the lead, attempting to stretch clear of the pack.
Holgado pressed in pursuit, while Masià closed the gap and advanced toward the podium positions. A fierce duel between Holgado and Masià allowed the chasing group to close in, and among the six contenders for victory, Moreira regained the lead with eight laps remaining. Holgado was then penalized with a long lap penalty for the final stretch violations, delaying his challenge as the race wore on.
The race concluded with Moreira earning Brazil’s first World Championship victory since Alex Barros in 2005. Among the remaining Spaniards, José Antonio Rueda finished fifth ahead of Masià, with Ivan Ortola in ninth. Holgado settled for fourteenth, while Xavi Artigas finished nineteenth on a CFMoto. Adrian Fernandez and Ana Carrasco, both on Honda and KTM respectively, did not finish the race.
