Moscow Spartak and Dutch side Twente have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Costa Rica’s 21-year-old striker Manfred Ugalde.

According to insider information, the deal is valued at 15 million euros, a new record for Spartak’s targets in terms of transfer fees. Preparations for the official paperwork are underway, and the player is expected to sign a 4.5-year contract with Spartak.

Ugalde’s current contract with Twente runs through the summer of 2027. The Transfermarkt valuation places the 21-year-old forward at around 5 million euros.

Last season, the striker appeared in 25 matches across all competitions for Twente, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists. He also has six caps and one goal for the Costa Rica national team.

Spartak have spent 18 rounds in the Russian Premier League and sit fifth with 30 points. The second half of the campaign is set to begin in March. In round 19, the Muscovites defeated Zenit St. Petersburg and will travel to St. Petersburg for the next fixture against the same club.

Earlier, Nair Tiknizyan commented on the collapse of the Zenit transfer and indicated that the move had not materialized.
