Former footballer Evgeny Lovchev took to his telegraph channel to voice criticism of the Dynamo leadership through their striker Fedor Smolov. He argued that leadership on a successful team often comes from veterans who set the tempo and rally the squad, and he pointed to the way young players gravitate toward assertive figures like Artem Dzyuba. Lovchev noted that Dzyuba’s presence has visibly sharpened the dynamics at Loko and that a strong example from a senior star can pull the rest of the squad along. In his view, Smolov’s leadership leaves a noticeable gap that the team misses when it is most needed. Lovchev also emphasized that such players should be the ones guiding the team, rather than waiting for others to take the initiative, and he suggested this discrepancy might be a reason for Dynamo’s inconsistent performances.
