Spanish rider Izan Guevara dominates Aragon Grand Prix to take a stunning Moto3 win

In a dramatic Moto3 race at the Aragon Grand Prix, the fifteenth round of the Motorcycle World Championship, Izan Guevara from Spain delivered a spectacular victory, riding a GasGas machine. He led from start to finish, reinforcing his position at the top of the standings while his teammate and main challenger, Sergio García Dols, finished in thirteenth place. A perfect ride from the traffic lights to the checkered flag saw Guevara cross first, ahead of the flawless Sasaki from Japan and Spaniard Dani Holgado who started from the front row and climbed to second and third respectively. The Alicante native earned his first podium finish of his career as a result.

After securing his fourth win of the season and the fifth in his career, Guevara sits first in the standings with 229 points. García Dols now trails by 33 points, while Italian Dennis Foggia occupies third with a 58 point gap after finishing fourteenth, just behind the leader. Guevara expressed that the race carried great significance for him and his team. Motorland is his home circuit, a sentiment reflected in his post race comments.

Guevara maintained pressure as the lights went out and attempted a sharp getaway. Sasaki and Holgado stayed glued to his wheel as the field stretched behind him. In close pursuit was García Dols, who moved up four spots into eighth place in a single sector. The battle continued as riders from the Balearic Islands joined the pack, while a chase group formed with ten laps remaining including Turkish rider Marine Pioneer, Japanese rider Tatsuki Suzuki, and Iván Ortolá. Despite the intensifying tension, the leading trio managed to extend their advantage, leaving the chasers with a substantial gap more than five seconds ahead and almost ten seconds by the finish line. The front trio crossed the line in their established order without any overtaking changes, sealing the podium positions.

Among other Spanish competitors, Adrián Fernández clinched fifth place, part of what became a Spanish train consisting of Iván Ortolá, David Muñoz, Jaume Masià, and Carlos Tatay. Xavi Artigas finished eleventh, while Ana Carrasco and María Herrera completed the classification in twenty-fifth and twenty-seventh respectively, both riding KTM machines. The race showcased solid performances across the board and highlighted Guevara’s rise at a critical point in the season. Source attribution: MotoGP
