It was unusual for Hercules to stage a fan event, yet the club organized a surprise open house ahead of an important training session at Rico Pérez on Thursday. The gesture felt natural, with no ulterior motive, and the squad opened up to the core of the team as fans gathered. Lolo Escobar patiently signed autographs and captured smiles as he interacted with supporters. After a string of recent disappointments, a day like this provided needed lift before Olot’s pivotal clash on Sunday. Nearly 200 people attended the Easter campus gathering, including representatives from Asocide, the Spanish Association of the Deaf. The atmosphere was buoyant, the bond between the stands, players, and staff strong, and everyone left feeling motivated to push for promotion. The club hinted that more open days are likely as the season progresses, a sign of rising fan engagement late in the campaign. The players appreciated the encouragement, and Sandro Toscano thanked the supporters for their presence, promising that such backing would be decisive in reaching the target.

“We need your help and encouragement. Everyone who buys in and feels part of this team that has reached the playoffs and aims for promotion is welcome.” He outlined his expectations: “If you come to Hercules, you know what you came for. The stakes are high, and so is the pressure. It can be a double-edged sword. You have to know how to manage it. I came to play these matches where something is on the line”, he said, adding that he feels physically stronger than ever in the final stretch of the season.

“Hercules must be the leader from day one in the club’s history”

Noting the team’s consistent effort this season, Toscano echoed teammates’ views in the locker room, suggesting that a sustained push could favor them in the promotion phase. With a calendar that looks manageable on the surface, the player added, “We’re physically and mentally fit,” outlining the challenges Hercules faced in the last five days.

“We will not underestimate any opponent. Every team has something to play for. In the lower tier, the race to avoid relegation adds extra pressure for all,” Toscano warned, stressing the need for focus in every match.

Neither Harper nor Ander Vitoria trained yesterday for personal reasons, and Diego Jiménez did not complete the session.
