According to Championship.com, Russian midfielder Alexander Golovin has secured a new contract with Monaco that carries an annual salary of 3.6 million euros, plus a bonus system that could push earnings higher based on performance and team results.

The agreement also introduces a performance-based bonus scheme that could raise Golovin’s income beyond the base salary, depending on achievements with the club and on personal metrics.

On October 4, Golovin extended his contract with Monaco, pledging his future with the club through the end of the 2028/29 season. The previous deal ran through the summer of 2026.

Monaco sits atop the French championship with 19 points after seven rounds, while PSG remains in second place just two points behind.

In the Champions League, Monaco defeated FC Barcelona 2-1 in the opening group match. Golovin played 45 minutes and was brought on at the start of the second half. The second group match ended in a 2-2 draw with Dinamo Zagreb.

In the 2023/24 season, the Russian midfielder appeared in 27 matches for the Monegasques, scoring six goals and delivering six assists. At the season’s end, Monaco finished as runners-up in Ligue 1 and earned a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage for the 2024/25 season. Monaco last claimed the Ligue 1 title in 2017, when Golovin was with CSKA Moscow.

Earlier, a Russian coach who followed Golovin’s career suggested that a move away from Monaco could be possible in the right circumstances.
