Game Kiddy Bubble: Sega Game Gear Inspired Handheld
Z-Pocket Game (ZPG) has released a new handheld retro console, the Game Kiddy Bubble, whose design borrows heavily from the look of the iconic Sega Game Gear. In addition to this model, the company is quietly developing other console variants, but specifics about those devices have not been disclosed yet.
The Game Kiddy Bubble sports a 3.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio. It is equipped with 1 GB of RAM and a Rockchip RK3566 processor, a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 chip clocked at 1.8 GHz paired with Mali-G52 MP2 graphics. This combination aims to deliver smooth performance for the era of games that inspired the device while maintaining energy efficiency for longer play sessions.
With this setup, the handheld should be able to emulate most older consoles up to the Dreamcast, although not every title may run perfectly on every title. Playable experiences are expected for PlayStation 1 and PSP titles in many cases, but some titles may require lower settings or compatibility workarounds to achieve playable frame rates.
The battery capacity is 4000 mAh, and there is an HDMI output for connection to a TV or monitor, as well as support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Dimensions measure 166.83 x 82 x 24 mm, and the device is priced at $71, which is roughly 6,800 rubles. These specs position the Game Kiddy Bubble as an affordable option for retro enthusiasts who want a compact, plug-and-play device that handles classic games without excessive cost.
