Fedor Smolov Leaves Dynamo Moscow as Contract Nears Expiry

Fedor Smolov, a forward who plies his trade with Dynamo Moscow, has decided to pursue a new chapter in his career. Euro-Football.Ru reports this development.

The 33-year-old striker plans to depart from the capital club when his current Dynamo contract expires in the middle of next year.

During the 2022/23 campaign, Smolov appeared in 21 Russian Premier League matches and found the net eight times.

Smolov rejoined Dynamo in January 2022. Over the years he has represented several Russian clubs, including Anzhi, Ural, Krasnodar and Lokomotiv. He has also explored leagues abroad, spending a loan spell with Dutch side Feyenoord in 2010 and another on loan at Spanish club Celta in 2020.

Transfer value figures place the Russian forward at around 5 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

On Telegram, former Spartak player Evgeny Lovchev questioned Smolov’s leadership qualities, drawing criticism toward the Dynamo striker from its readers and followers.
