Fedor Chalov, CSKA Moscow forward, explained the factors that contributed to his strong performance in the Russian Premier League during the 2022/23 season.
He pointed to a softened league environment as a key element, noting that the absence of several quality foreign players reduced the level of competition. At the same time, Chalov said the season helped him grow personally: he gained experience, built self-trust, and found greater assurance in his own abilities. On the pitch, he embraced opportunities to contribute and believed that each match offered another chance to score. This mindset fostered a sense of freedom and confidence that he credits for his improved output, according to sports coverage at the time.
Earlier in February of the previous year, Chalov went on loan to Basel in Switzerland, remaining with the club for the remainder of the season. During his loan spell, he appeared in 16 league games, scoring four goals and adding two assists. The Russian striker returned to CSKA Moscow after the loan period concluded.
In the current season, the 24-year-old has tallied 11 goals and two assists across 21 appearances for CSKA. Transfer market analyses estimated his market value at €7.5 million. These figures reflect Chalov’s ongoing contribution to the team and his standing in the transfer market as a reachable and valued forward in European football.
Earlier reporting also noted allegations that Barcelona had transferred payments to the former vice-president of the referees technical committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) between 2016 and 2018. This material was cited in coverage surrounding Chalov’s public profile and the broader context of refereeing and governance in football during that period, with attribution to reported sources of the time.
