The 25-year-old, born in Montevideo, has become a core pillar for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. In the current campaign, he has appeared in 16 matches across La Liga and the Champions League, contributing one goal and three assists.

Real Madrid’s statement

“Real Madrid CF and Fede Valverde have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will remain with the club until June 30, 2029.”

Valverde arrived at Real Madrid in July 2016, when he was eighteen. Over six seasons with the first team, he has established himself as one of the sport’s premier midfield talents.

During his time with the club, he has accumulated 220 appearances, scoring 19 goals and lifting nine major trophies. Those honours include one UEFA Champions League, two FIFA Club World Cups, one UEFA Super Cup, two Spanish La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups. Notably, he was named MVP of the 2020 Spanish Super Cup final and earned the Silver Ball at the 2023 Club World Cup, underscoring his influence on big-stage matches.

Valverde’s continued presence at Real Madrid is viewed as a strategic anchor for the team’s midfield balance and transition play. His ability to press high, recover possession, and contribute creatively aligns with the club’s long-term philosophy of combining technical skill with relentless work rate. As Real Madrid looks ahead to significant domestic and European campaigns, Valverde’s role is expected to remain central to the squad’s plans and competitive edge.
