EON Horneo Alicante faced a tough outing as the visiting team from Alicante failed to spark a response during their Sunday trip to Conservas Alsur Antequera. The match did not unfold as hoped for the visitors, who entered the game eager to leave with points but instead found themselves unable to translate early pressure into a sustained advantage.
From the opening minutes the scoreboard told a different story. Antequera raced ahead to lead 3-0 after three minutes of play. David Quiles responded for the visitors, converting twice from seven meters and pulling the score to 4-3. Yet the Andalusian side answered each attempt with a goal of their own, restoring a comfortable edge and maintaining momentum. Another long-range effort from David Jiménez reminded observers of his exterior shooting threat as the first half unfolded.
The game then pivoted around Quiles once more, who pushed the deficit back to a single goal as he struck from the seven-meter line to make it 6-5 near the midpoint of the first period. The sequence was interrupted by a red card shown to Matheus de Novais following a clash, a dismissal that had a significant impact on the balance of play and momentarily shifted control toward Antequera. The home side capitalized on the numerical advantage, widening the gap and grabbing the lead again.
The Indians sought to press through the middle, exploiting the Alicante attackers’ mistakes and converting into an easier path to goal. Antequera reacted with a renewed intensity, moving ahead by five goals with seven minutes left before the timeout and setting a clear tone for the rest of the half.

INFORMATION
As the second half began, EON Horneo Alicante pressed forward in search of a comeback, yet Pau Guitar of Alicante stood firm, keeping the net quiet for the visitors and denying any late chances to overturn the result. The defender turned attacker for a period, but the advantage stayed on the side of Antequera for most of the stanza.
Midway through the second period, Alicante found it difficult to sustain scoring and could only muster four goals, while the opponent stretched the margin further, growing the lead beyond comfortable reach. The scoreboard clearly reflected the challenge facing EON Horneo Alicante as Antequera moved further away with a disciplined defensive display and efficient finishing.
With five minutes left, the match had already cemented a one-sided narrative as the Alicante defense withstood pressure but couldn’t bridge the gap. The contest closed with a sense of fatigue and a focus on the next round, set to come Saturday evening when they return home to host Sant Quirze at the Marist College Brother Felicisimo Ruiz Pavilion.
The final result positioned EON Horneo Alicante in fourth place with four points from the four games played so far.
