The lions leave Eldense with little room to breathe, despite a spirited start from the home side.

For Athletic Club de Bilbao, the Copa del Rey holds a storied weight, reflected in the club’s 23 titles in the competition. In another bid to end a long drought, the Basque side outclassed Eldense from the First Federación at the Pepico Amat with a 1-6 scoreline. Yet Eldense showed resilience and solidarity in possession and pressing until the third goal changed the momentum and, afterward, their efforts waned.

Nico Williams opened the scoring in the 35th minute by pouncing on a rebound from Stamatakis after a Berenguer shot. Five minutes later Berenguer doubled the advantage with a clean finish after a deflection off a barrier on a Yuri free kick.
