Eldense faces a challenging period with key injuries and absences affecting its lineup. Carlos Hernández is dealing with muscle problems, while the club also lost support from Alex Martínez and Miguel Núñez, who are not registered for the upcoming match. The game against Villarreal B will mark the second day of the Hypermotion League, and Eldense must navigate these setbacks with a tight squad and scarce preparation time.
Coach Fernando Estévez acknowledged that the injury situation comes at a tough moment, especially after a short offseason and limited time to rebuild the roster. With Hernández unavailable, the coaching staff had to adapt quickly and use Pedro Capó in defense, with Capó also covering a left-sided midfield role due to the lack of a natural fit for that position. Marc Mateu was deployed as a left-back, filling a gap left by the club’s absence of a dedicated player for that slot.
Eldense has been exploring options to reinforce in coming days, with Iñigo Piña and Dario Dumic on the radar. The club hopes to secure Dumic through an international transfer to bolster the central defense, a move that could solidify the back line as the team pushes to stay competitive in the league.
“We’re working through the administrative process this week to finalize the Dumic signing. He is a priority for the club,” Estévez stated, underscoring how important it is to address defensive depth amid the current constraints.
In response to these difficulties, Eldense’s sporting management accelerated talks to bring in additional defenders, particularly for the wings. Toni Abad remains the only natural option on the flank, while Álex Martínez continues to recover from a serious injury sustained in the previous season’s final episode. The squad is planning further defensive arrivals to cover both central and wide positions as soon as possible.
Complicating matters, Miguel Núñez has not been enrolled for this campaign, marking a significant shift for Eldense’s defensive backbone. Núñez had recently earned a regular spot in the back line after earning promotion to the second division, and his absence leaves a noticeable gap going into the next scheduled match on Monday at 19:00 against Villarreal B at La Cerámica.
