Eldense secures a third straight win with a solid display and eyes promotion
Eldense continued its climb with a 0-2 victory away to Osasuna B, extending a run of four consecutive games without conceding. The win reinforces the team’s position near the top of the standings, underscoring the strong defensive discipline that has become a hallmark of the side under coach Fernando Estevez.
The coach made a notable decision by leaving Carlos Hernández out after an earlier blow in the Osasuna B match, yet the overall performance suggested that the squad could cope without him, maintaining confidence and cohesion on the pitch.
From the opening minutes, the match showed two teams wary of opening the scoring too early. The early exchanges were tight, with neither side able to break through. Osasuna B pressed forward in the final stretch of the first half, while Eldense looked to counter and create chances, though the first 45 minutes finished with few clear opportunities for either side.
Miguel Nuñez picked up a caution early on, but Eldense created a key moment with danger for the home goal. In the 36th minute Vallejo faced a tough test and had to be alert to keep the score level, with backup goalkeeper Stamatakis warming up briefly before Eldense’s defense steadied and the team finished the half with momentum regained.
Barbero tested the Eldense keeper with a long-range effort that required a strong save, pushing Vallejo to the limit and signaling the visitors’ intent to push after the restart.
Just as the game seemed poised for a draw, a decisive moment arrived in a fast counterattack. After a moment of misalignment in the Osasuna B defense, Mario Soberón capitalized and found Santi Castillejo, who beat the keeper Dario to give Eldense a 0-1 lead. The breakthrough sparked confidence and shifted the balance in Eldense’s favor for the remainder of the evening.
Moments later, Carnicer delivered a cross from the right that Nieto glanced through to Darío, who produced an excellent stop to deny a second Eldense goal and keep the score at 0-1 heading into the closing stages.
The contest continued with Eldense pressing and Osasuna B pushing to respond. The home side did create chances but could not breach the visitors’ defense. As the clock ticked toward the end, Osasuna B pressed high, looking for an equalizer, but Eldense remained compact and threats remained scarce. The match was all but sealed when a late set piece delivered by Vallejo culminated in a goal for Jesús Clemente in the 82nd minute, extending the lead to 0-2 and putting the result beyond reach for the hosts.
Osasuna B pushed forward in search of a late consolation, but Vallejo produced another crucial save, preserving the two-goal margin in the 85th minute and ensuring Eldense carried the advantage to the final whistle. The result confirms Eldense’s third straight win and sets the stage for a home clash against Gimnàstic de Tarragona the following match day.
