In recent years Deportivo Eldense has undergone rapid growth, prompting a series of renovations to upgrade its facilities. The club, focused on meeting public expectations, invested heavily to adapt the Pepico Amat stadium for daily use and to accommodate the ambitions of professional football. While the league status progressed, the need for a dedicated training space remained a priority, ensuring players could prepare at a high level every day.

Eldense invested more than two million in the renovation of its stadium

During a period of transition, the football organization faced the challenge of updating the pitch while balancing training needs. The club initially used the Nuevo Pepico Amat with artificial turf, but with guidance from the Royal Spanish Football Federation, a shift toward natural grass was implemented. Since then, training sessions have taken place both inside the stadium and on the adjacent Sismat field when opponents required a grass surface not available locally.

In earlier seasons the old Pepico Amat offered a natural grass pitch as an alternative, but the field conditions were less than ideal, partly due to sharing space with the city’s rugby team.

The club faced the demands of opponents by moving through French towns several times in the previous season. Pinoso and Villena also offered natural grass fields for preparation.

During the current pre-season, the Eldense squad conducted multiple training sessions at Farmin town Algorfa, a setting that, while a bit distant from Medio Vinalopó, remains practical at roughly a 45 minute travel. They also trained at the Pinatar Sand facilities to maintain rhythm and conditioning.

This travel schedule is set to ease as the team has reconfigured the former Pepico annex into a functional playing area aligned with the squad’s needs, offering a quick return path to Nuevo Pepico Amat by crossing two streets. The investment for this reorganization reached approximately 160,000 euros, and the replanting phase began in September, taking longer than initially expected.

The combined facility will allow the old stadium to be evacuated and repurposed, creating two fields as soon as possible. Training sessions can continue under favorable conditions, with players highlighting that more resources open doors for growth and that a dedicated nerve center would boost on-field performance.

Pedro Capó: “Those who have witnessed Eldense’s ascent value games like Sporting more”

The memory of promotion to the Second Division at Montilivi in 2006 remains vivid for supporters as they recall the celebrations and the atmosphere around a great victory. The club’s current trajectory positions Eldense as a dynamic hub that is building the infrastructure to support ongoing growth. The vision includes a comprehensive sports complex that could emerge as a central feature, though the club remains focused on steady development rather than flashy headlines.
