HE CD in hand reclaimed victory this Saturday after a seven-day drought. Huesca and we were deeply moved by the Huesca painting, the direct rival in the fight for survival, a moment that resonated emotionally.

Fernando Estévez’s players delivered a strong performance, showing resilience and finishing the task when the opportunity arose. The goal from Soberón also saves the Blaugranas from relegation and restores the team’s belief ahead of the tournament after three straight defeats.

Estévez set up his side at El Alcoraz with four new players and a 4-4-2 formation. With Andone and Juanto Ortuño serving as the main attacking references, Timor and Alex Bernal were joined by Clemente and Soberón on the flanks. Andoni Zubiaurre continued in goal, with Dumik and Pineapple in central defense, Abbot on the right and Marc Mateu on the left.

Eldense travels to Huesca determined to reverse their negative run

Although Eldense faced a Huesca team that arrived feeling pressured after collecting only five points in the last 18, the Blaugranas approached the game with a sense of purpose. Both sides controlled medium pace play early on, and Andone failed to finish a cross from Toni Abad just moments into the match.

Joaquín Muñoz also could not connect with Loureiro’s cross, preventing the opening goal for Huesca. From there, Eldense found rhythm and pressure but struggled to breakthrough in the final meters, with few clear chances in either penalty area.

Álex Bernal tried to clear a ball under pressure, while the home side pressed high in the first half. A late half-chance went just wide as the local team held firm. The scoreline persisted into halftime with the teams drawing even.

After the break, Eldense emerged with renewed intent. Sergio Ortuño’s substitution added bite to the visitors’ attack, pushing Huesca back as they attempted to exploit the left wing through coordinated plays and Marc Mateu’s crosses. Huesca managed to defend and keep the game level for a time, but Eldense found a way to threaten again. Clemente fired a shot from inside the area that forced a save and kept the scoreboard unchanged at that moment.

Iván Chapela also forced the goalkeeper to stretch at close range, while Dumic’s follow-up shot hit the crossbar, leaving Eldense within reach of a breakthrough on the road. The match carried a sense of high uncertainty as Eldense pressed to secure victory away from home.

As the contest neared its end, a controversial moment from VAR occurred when a handball claim against Iván Chapela was initially ruled as a penalty. After a monitor review, the decision was overturned, and the call was canceled just before the 90th minute. The officials judged that a Huesca defender touched the ball before Chapela, negating the penalty and keeping the score level.

With time running out, 11 minutes of stoppage added intensity as Huesca sought a late equalizer. The atmosphere grew electric, and Soberón, in a well-orchestrated move led by Salcedo, fired the ball into the net past Álvaro Fernández to seal Eldense’s win for a late-season spark.

In the final minutes, Balboa was shown a red card for a rough challenge on Sergio Ortuño, and there were no protests from the players. This victory marked Eldense’s third win of the season, with one of those successes earned at their home ground, lifting them away from the relegation zone and signaling a solid performance overall.
