In recent months the Elda Town Hall and the Eldense Sports Club have held discussions aimed at identifying the most viable path to a renewed stadium footprint on the historic Pepico Amat site. The conversations also touch on the club’s potential ascent to the Second Division, a milestone that would heighten regional visibility and foster broader community engagement around sport and culture.
Municipal leadership has signaled clear support for a future project, entrusting club president Pascual Pérez with the mandate to explore expansion possibilities or a complete remodel of the existing Pepico Amat stadium. This spirit of cooperative planning reflects a shared belief that renewing the venue could benefit both the team and the city in tangible ways.

City officials have confirmed that the long-standing Barcelona-based organization, which holds a more than century-long tradition in football, is drafting a feasibility study for the transformation of the Pepico Amat site. This assessment is intended for submission to the town hall after thorough evaluation. The historic Pepico Amat, once accommodating 8,000 spectators on Olympic Street, served as the club’s early home. A newer stadium on Heidelberg Street, opened in 2012, operates at a reduced capacity of 4,036 to reflect current demand and safety standards. The municipal team has endorsed the club’s plan, with the understanding that formal urban planning reviews and necessary permits will follow before any construction advances.
With a focus on revitalizing the precinct surrounding the original stadium, municipal technicians and club engineers are conducting joint interviews and feasibility reviews. The envisioned project aims to deliver a versatile, multi-use stadium that can host Eldense matches and a spectrum of cultural events, significantly expanding the venue’s role in the community. Projections outline a new complex featuring a capacity to accommodate approximately 18,000 to 20,000 spectators, positioning the site as a central hub for sport, entertainment, and civic life. The development also contemplates an underground parking facility capable of handling several thousand vehicles, alongside a nearby hotel and retail district designed to complement the stadium’s ecosystem and stimulate local economic activity.
