The city council has deployed sensors across several districts via the Modernization Department. These devices measure air quality, environmental conditions, and meteorological factors such as noise, pedestrian flow, traffic speed, wind direction, and rainfall. They also detect potential contaminants that could affect residents’ health and quality of life.

The public square in front of the Town Hall was packed during the Second Division promotion celebrations. The sensors provide real-time data and maintain a robust historical record, with high accuracy and reliability.

The sensors are located in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Central Market, Severo Ochoa Social Centre, Plaza Nueva Fraternidad, Plaza de la Ficia, and the Fire Station. While offering live updates, they also preserve an extensive data history to help authorities analyze trends and respond to shifts in air and noise levels.

Council members emphasized that the sensor network makes it possible to monitor air quality and noise in real time. This data supports decisions aimed at reducing pollution sources and improving public health. Comparing values across different time periods allows for identifying pollutant peaks and understanding patterns. Updated data helps residents gauge their daily environment and the overall quality of life in Elda.
