Elche CF returned to training this Wednesday morning after a scheduled break on Tuesday. As is customary, Argentine coach sebastian beccacece continues to split the squad in sessions, organizing the group into two blocks: attacking profiles and defensive specialists. The aim is clear—sharpen offensive builds while tightening defensive coordination ahead of the next fixtures.
The first group featured players such as Ezequiel Ponce, Lucas Boyé, Pere Milla, Randy Nteka, Tete Morente, Nico Fernández Mercau, Álex Colado, Gerard Gumabu, Fidel and Raúl Guti. They headed straight to the Díez Iborra field at the Juan Ángel Romero sports city, practicing for about 45 minutes before moving to the Martínez Valero stadium gym to complete the training session.
There were also players with a defensive profile in attendance. Pol Lirola, Omar Mascarell, Josan, Pedro Bigas, Lucas Verdú, Diego González, Lisandro Magallán, Enzo Roco, Carlos Clerc, Lautaro Blanco, John Chetauya and Pape Cheikh began with a gym session, then transitioned to the Díez Iborra facilities for on-field work.
The good news centers on Fidel’s return to normal training. The Huelva midfielder had a productive session last week and recently played until 51 minutes in Girona, before being forced to request a substitution due to a calf issue in the right leg. After the midweek effort, he looks ready to contribute in the upcoming league match, having trained with the group and showing no lingering problems in the leg.
Fidel returns to grass but remains available for selection

The Andalusian midfielder has rejoined the fold and is anticipated to be available for Sunday’s regional derby against Valencia, scheduled for a 14:00 kickoff. His return adds depth to the squad, which will be looking to compete at a high level in front of the home supporters.
For the clash with Valencia, Beccacece faces selection constraints. Ponce is unavailable due to a suspension incurred by a red card at Montilivi last Sunday, while Gumabu will not be eligible for the same fixture due to a five-yellow-card tally. The Catalan midfielder may also be required to take a penalty if called upon by the refereeing decision in the match context.
Alongside these challenges, Jose Angel Carmona remains sidelined, as he continues rehabilitation from a hamstring issue. The absence is expected to extend close to the end of the season, limiting options in the squad’s rotation for the central areas.

Helibelton Palacios is also contending with a cadence of recovery. An adductor injury suffered in Girona kept him on the sidelines during the midweek, and his availability for the regional derby against Valencia will depend on progress made through the week. At present, it seems unlikely he will be able to feature; the remaining days will determine whether a late decision can be made for Thursday and beyond.
