Elche CF postpones the Centennial Fan Zone due to storm risk
The long-awaited celebration known as the Pasión Centenaria Fan Zone, organized by Grupo TM Inmobiliario with Elche CF as the main sponsor, is rescheduled for Saturday. The event was designed as a family-friendly day of free fun, and it will take place in the Martínez Valero stadium parking lot, with gates opening around midday and activities running through the late afternoon. Elche CF confirmed the updated plan to supporters via email, inviting everyone to participate and enjoy a lineup of activities that capture the club’s history and community spirit.
In the official message, the club highlighted a program rich with entertainment for all ages. Attendees can expect a mix of games, inflatable attractions, virtual reality experiences, and football-themed activities. The schedule now centers on a family-friendly window from around 12:00 to 19:00, designed to celebrate the club’s centennial while engaging fans in a relaxed, enjoyable setting.
delay
The initial plan had called for the football festival to run on Saturday, May 27. The following day, Elche faced Athletic Club in Bilbao on the league’s penultimate matchday. With forecasts signaling heavy rainfall around that weekend, organizers made the difficult decision to suspend the event to protect fans and participants from adverse weather conditions.
Elche postpones the fan zone this Saturday due to storm risk
Although Elche CF had already faced relegation, the Centennial celebration emerged from the strong support shown by the club’s fan base and the Peñas Federation. The idea originated with Christian Bragarnik, the club’s principal shareholder, who witnessed a remarkable response to a prior fan-focused gathering. The failed season did not dampen enthusiasm; families turned out for mask-making activities, children’s games, virtual reality experiences, and a communal paella experience that once brightened Paseo de la Estación. The reenvisioned event aims to honor that same connection between the team and its supporters.
The event, branded as the Fan Zone of the Elche CF Peñas Federation, has been captured in photography by Matías Segarra, illustrating the community-centered nature of the celebration and the enduring fan culture surrounding the club.
Prize
On this occasion, TM Group and Elche CF are collaborating to host a commemorative gathering that rewards the loyalty of a large fan base in recognition of their strong support despite the season’s disappointments. The organizers hope the event will reinforce the bond between the team and its followers and generate lasting memories for those in attendance.
David Aranda, who presides over the Federation of Fan Clubs, expressed understanding that the delay happened outside of the league schedule. He stressed that any social gathering that strengthens the link between the team and its supporters is valuable. Aranda also confirmed that Centennial commemorations will continue throughout the year, underscoring a commitment to ongoing fan engagement and community events.
apology and gratitude
The club extended a personal note to supporters this week, offering heartfelt apologies for the failure to meet a planned milestone and thanking fans for their ongoing support and exemplary conduct. The message acknowledged the difficult season while reaffirming the passion and unwavering devotion of Elche’s supporters to the shield. It closed with a pledge to return and to keep showing up for the fans, echoing a familiar refrain of resilience and solidarity among the Franjiverde community.
