Elche CF launches community initiatives tied to the festive season

Elche CF unveiled a series of social and supportive campaigns under the banner “We share an illusion of feeling together for Christmas,” scheduled to run in the weeks leading up to Easter. The club aims to offer aid across all segments of the city, reinforcing its commitment to the community beyond the pitch.

The Franjiverde club collaborated closely on the collection of hygiene and cleaning products. The Peñas Federation organized a preview match against Cartagena to benefit Casita del Reposo, and young participants from this center attended the game at the Martínez Valero stadium, strengthening ties between the club, its supporters, and local institutions.

Elche fans are widely recognized for their solidarity, and the club highlighted this spirit through its outreach efforts. A public appearance featured the club’s leadership and players, emphasizing the importance of community service and mutual support during the holiday season. The engagement provided a platform for residents to voice concerns and feel connected to the team’s social mission.

In a separate effort, the club and its first-team players, along with President Joaquín Buitrago and General Director Pedro Schinoccavis, visited five elderly centers around the city. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the City Council’s Elderly Department, allowed players to tour facilities, share conversations, and participate in daily activities with older residents. The experience underscored the value of community spaces and the positive impact of direct interaction between athletes and seniors.

Another outreach initiative brought the club closer to the city’s more affluent housing areas. A sign language interpretation program accompanied a match between Mirandés and Aromas Ilicitanos, with interpreter Inmaculada Cascales delivering real-time translation on the scoreboard as players exited the field at Martínez Valero. The collaboration with Apesoelx, Fesord CV Foundation, and the Sign Language School highlighted accessibility and inclusivity for all fans during match days.

Christmas greetings from Elche CF Original

The Elche CF Original team designed the club’s Christmas card, inviting all members of the squad to contribute ideas through a two-person selection process. Captains Fidel Chaves and Pedro Bigas will determine the final image for this year’s Franjiverde Christmas, a project that showcases the players’ creativity and affection for the club’s heritage.

In the days ahead of the Three Wise Men festivities, teams of players and staff will visit the pediatric wards of Vinalopó University Hospital and General University Hospital. Franjiverde members will spread cheer and lift the spirits of boys and girls admitted to hospitals during this period, bringing a sense of normalcy and joy to hospital corridors.

One of the year’s most anticipated events occurred in 2019 when the Martínez Valero stands opened to celebrate a training session with open doors for Franjiverde fans. The day offered younger supporters a rare chance to watch the first team practice up close, turning a routine session into a memorable public event.

Today, the Grada de Animación Fondo Sur 1923 will coordinate a collection drive featuring non-perishable foods, hygiene products for families, and pet food for animals. Participation requires donating at least one kilogram of food or a bag of essentials to join in the community training day, reinforcing the club’s role in mobilizing local support networks.
