Well-known sports commentator and television host, Dmitry Guberniev, commended the public image of figure skater Alina Zagitova as he selected her to showcase his fashion collection. His praise was cited by Sports Express, highlighting the athlete’s continuing influence beyond the rink.
“Great job, Alina! An athlete should never stand still but keep growing”, Guberniev remarked. He noted that a new palace is under construction in Tatarstan and will bear her name, adding intrigue about a forthcoming clothing line. He also pointed to the pink ensemble Zagitova wore during the event as something that captivated audiences, emphasizing that she sets an example for others by pursuing artistic and athletic excellence side by side. “Will he be successful? I truly hope so”, he added, acknowledging that supporters and collaborators are playing roles behind the scenes.
For the presentation, Zagitova chose pink tights paired with a short denim skirt, a look that drew attention for its bold yet tasteful style.
Zagitova became the Olympic champion in 2018, a landmark achievement that complemented her 2019 World Championship title. She also collected gold and silver medals at the European Championships in 2018 and 2019, underscoring a period of sustained international dominance.
After missing the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the skater has not declared retirement. In the most recent Team Tournament of the Channel One Cup, held last February, Zagitova served as captain for the Red Machine and helped guide the team to victory.
There have been indications in recent years that Zagitova could consider a return to competition, with conversations and possibilities explored among fans and observers alike, leaving the door open to new chapters in her storied career.
