Court grants detention in CSKA player assault case, updates on suspects and support for Shved

The fourth person accused in the assault on CSKA basketball player Alexei Shved was taken into custody by court order. This update comes from the Moscow prosecutor’s office as reported by DEA News.

According to the presiding authorities, the court, after considering the position of the Presnensky Interregional Prosecutor’s Office, ordered detention for a 31-year-old man. The defense and the defendant filed objections at the hearing. Prosecutors noted that the defendant’s lawyers had proposed house arrest as an alternative precautionary measure, but the court chose detention pending further proceedings.

The incident occurred on May 1 when Shved and his companions were at a centralized Moscow restaurant for a private gathering. An exchange of words with a group of men on their way out led to a violent confrontation, during which the basketball star sustained a serious head injury and required medical attention.

Earlier developments in the case saw three suspects—Ramzin Amiraslanov, Gleb Pisarev, and Knyaz Amiraslanov—remain in custody until a July 2 court decision, with ongoing investigations surrounding their roles in the assault.

On May 5, authorities announced the arrest of the principal suspect, Yusuf Yusuf Mirashurov, identified as the driver for one of the Amiraslanov brothers. He was apprehended at Zhukovsky airport while attempting to depart the country, marking a pivotal step in advancing the case.

Earlier in the investigation, members of the CSKA basketball community who are close to Shved—Semyon Antonov, Nikita Kurbanov, Samson Ruzhentsev, and Devonte’ Kaykok—visited the hospitalized defender to offer support and check on his condition, underscoring the team’s solidarity during this period of recovery and legal proceedings.
