Costa Blanca Cup 2023 gathers 275 teams from five continents

The Costa Blanca Cup 2023 brings together 275 teams representing 23 countries from five continents. This marks the twenty-ninth edition of the international floorball and futsal competition, a multi-discipline event in Benidorm running this Sunday, July 8th, across football 8, football 11, futsal, both in women’s and men’s divisions, and inclusive formats.

The tournament was introduced by director Fernando Brotons at the Torrejó Building in Benidorm, an occasion attended by the mayors from the host municipalities.

Brotons traced the competition’s history, describing its core as internationalism, tourism, sport, and experiential learning. This blend aims to create a vibrant festival atmosphere that goes beyond the playing field.

Spain stands as the most represented nation, alongside participants from Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Japan, Jordan, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Uganda.

Brotons affirmed the event’s commitment to inclusive participation, noting that since 2015 the Costa Blanca Cup has demonstrated football can welcome players of all abilities. The event emphasizes inclusivity, bringing together diverse capacities within its competitive framework.

The tournament’s venues span Benidorm and its surrounding districts, including Benissa, Calpe, Altea, Alfas del Pi, La Nucía, Polop, Finestrat, Villajoyosa, and Callosa, with more than 674 matches scheduled.

Ana Pellicer, deputy mayor of Benidorm, highlighted the economic impact on the host towns and noted that participants value more than just sun and sea. They appreciate opportunities to explore local gastronomy, culture, and sports communities that complement their competition experience.

In its twenty-ninth edition, the Costa Blanca Cup continues to anchor a professional, world-class environment for youth football. The organizers aim to provide tools that enhance visibility and information about the international tournament. To support this, the event app has been strengthened for both Android and iOS, delivering timely updates to teams, clubs, families, and fans via mobile devices.

Participants and supporters can download a practical tool from the app store by searching for the Toursport app. It offers team rosters, match schedules, live results, venue details, event agendas, and tournament rules, among other resources. The Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas organization maintains and enhances its technological position to deliver the most relevant information directly to users’ phones.
