WHEN DID THE REPECHAGE PHASE OF THE 2023 LIBERTADORES CUP BEGIN?

The organizing body announced the sequence of the ties. The first round kicked off between Tuesday, February 7, and Thursday, February 16. The second round ran from February 21 to March 2, and the third crossing occurred from March 8 to March 16. These rounds determined who would join the field in the group stage.

HOW ARE THE REPECHAJE PHASES OF THE 2023 LIBERTADORES CUP STRUCTURED?

Each tie is played over two legs, home and away. The pairings were set by a draw prior to the stage, ensuring a balanced pathway for all involved clubs. The opening round featured six clubs from the leagues of Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela, with the winners advancing to the next phase.

Sixteen teams entered the second round. Three of those were survivors from the first round, while the remaining slots were filled by clubs from Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela, along with two clubs from Brazil, Chile, and Colombia earning berths through direct qualification or recent performance.

The third round reduced the field to eight teams, all winners from the second round. The four remaining victors earned the final places in the group stage, sealing their place among South America’s best clubs.
