Draw for the second qualifying round of the Copa del Rey 2023-2024: when it happens, date, day, time, how it works, format and participating teams
The draw for the second round of the SM El Rey Cup is scheduled for next Tuesday, November 7 at 1 p.m. The 28 matches that comprise this round will be played on December 5, 6 and 7, 2023. The Luis Aragonés Hall at Ciudad del Fútbol will again host the event, which fans can watch live via streaming on the official media platforms of the RFEF.
A total of 56 teams will compete in this phase, 55 coming from the previous round and one new entrant, SD Amorebieta, debuting as the champion of the First Federation for the 2022-2023 season.
All 28 matches are set for December 5, 6 and 7, 2023. The winners advance to the third round, also known as the round of 32.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid and Osasuna are not yet involved because they are competing in the 2024 Spanish Super Cup; they will begin their Copa del Rey campaign in the round of 32.
Matches will be decided in a single game. If the score is level after 90 minutes, extra time will be played, and if necessary, a penalty shootout will determine the winner.
