The King of Cups visited Barracas and, short one player for an entire hour, did not push past a 1-1 result with the locals.

Platense, Vélez, Defense and Justice, Banfield, Instituto and now Barracas Central. Six consecutive winless matches for Independiente, consisting of four draws and two defeats. On the seventh date of the Binance Professional League 2023, the clash against Guapo at Claudio Chiqui Tapia Stadium finished 1–1.

The start looked promising for the visitors: Baltazar Barcia, the standout on the pitch, opened the scoring before the clock hit a minute. Yet the happiness was short-lived for the white-clad side, because at 4 minutes Facundo Mater forced a deflection off the edge of the big area, equalizing the tone of the match almost instantly.

As in a recent encounter with the Drill, Independiente found themselves with a man advantage for most of the match, but this time the red card came at 27 minutes when Sergio Barreto earned a second yellow, leaving his team a man down. That setback did not stop Independiente from pushing forward; indeed they produced the clearest chances of the opening half and arguably deserved to lead, yet a lack of finishing touch persisted as a major problem.

Few moments of note defined the second half. The heat began to influence the stamina of both sides, and even with numerical superiority, Barracas Central did not take excessive risks. A handful of late opportunities did not convert into the winning goal, and the scoreline remained tight.

Meanwhile, Independiente still seeks their first league win after a debut success, and they sit at the bottom of the table. The next challenge will be a home match against Colón in the Libertadores de América, a confrontation likely to demand patience from supporters and scrutiny from critics alike.

The Binance Professional League schedule for 2023 continues to unfold with fixtures, dates, and results shaping the chase for national glory.
