During the meal, Alba, who is set to become a father for the third time in July, reiterated to Laporta his desire to stay with Barça and honor the terms of his contract, which concludes on June 30, 2024. The president used the opportunity to personally congratulate the defender on Barça’s recent league triumph and to ask how he views his role in the club going forward. GOAL reports that there was no discussion of reducing the player’s wages, nor any insinuation of Alba’s departure from the club.
In a cordial exchange, Alba underscored his intention to continue with Barça, maintaining his ties to the team until his current deal expires.
