British driver Lando Norris, driving for McLaren, set the pace on the quickest laps using soft tires, recording a best time of 1 minute, 19 seconds, and 117 thousandths. Charles Leclerc, from Monaco and racing for Ferrari, was close behind, just 132 thousandths slower, while Sergio Pérez of Red Bull completed the top three, trailing Norris by 148 thousandths.
