Movements continue to unfold from CD Eldense’s offices as Arnau Ortiz, who had been on loan at Mirandés after Zubiaurre’s departure, becomes the next high‑impact movement. The Barça club agreed to end his loan with Girona so he could join Cartagena, a direct rival in the fight to stay in the Second Division, where he will play on loan through the season’s end.

The forward’s stint in the city of shoes was brief, totaling 407 minutes across 11 appearances in league and cup play. He started strong, earning the coach’s trust and featuring in the first two matchdays against Cartagena and Villarreal B. Yet the intense competition and a less dynamic team style prevented him from securing the regular minutes he sought.

Cris Montes’ contract extension through 2026 helped accelerate the departure process. With limited playing time on the pitch, both Arnau and Girona decided to pursue another option for the current season.

“We are well covered on both wings. Arnau was among the players with the fewest minutes. As a club, we hoped he would get more opportunities, recognizing his potential, because he is a player who deserves it. He is on the cusp of breaking through; when it happens, it will be a pivotal moment in his professional journey. Our game model, which emphasizes physicality, has sometimes limited his chances,” said sports director Manu Guill, who highlighted Catalan strength and pace.

In Mo Dauda’s presentation, he expressed clear ambition: “I see the club with good goals.”

Despite playing the full 90 minutes in the friendly against FC Twente, Dauda did not emerge as the favorite to win the starting spot. He did, however, have a late-minute contribution against Real Zaragoza, coming on in the 75th minute and delivering an impressive showing. The squad then travels to Cartagena to contest survival against the Albinegro side, which sits penultimate and five points away from safety.

After the official departures of Andoni and Arnau, Eldense’ s sports management focused on securing contracts. A third goalkeeper was brought in to compete with Guille and Aceves, a move that positions the squad to continue pursuing stability in League Two. With this addition, the transfer window closes for the season, leaving Eldense with a squad that has demonstrated the potential to compete at this level.

So far, the balance includes two transfers (Nacho Monsalve and Mo Dauda) and four (Salcedo, Miguel Marí, Zubiaurre, and Arnau). The club remains hopeful a goalkeeper will arrive to bolster the squad as the market moves toward the next campaign.
