Italian rider Enea Bastianini on a Ducati clinched a dramatic victory at the Aragon Grand Prix, the fifteenth round of the Motorcycle World Championship. The win allowed him to overtake his compatriot Francesco Bagnaia on the final lap, crowning a race that kept fans on edge from start to finish. Alex Espargaro, riding for Aprilia, pressed the title leader Fabio Quartararo, who endured a costly crash after contact with Marc Marquez, forcing the Spaniard to retire as he attempted a comeback after a recent break from the track.
The rider nicknamed The Beast waited patiently until the final corner before making a decisive move on Pecco Bagnaia, seizing a fourth victory of the season with a narrow margin of 0.042 seconds. The duel began with a race that started with tension and ended with an intense finish that left spectators breathless.
upon his return to full competition after a fourth humeral operation, Marquez moved up from thirteenth to sixth before the first corner, showing glimpses of his old pace as Quartararo slipped behind him. The Frenchman battled the Catalan rider through Turn 3, but a dramatic sequence unfolded when Marquez appeared to go high side, and Quartararo collided with him, sending the championship leader crashing to the ground.
With the bike damaged, Marquez faced further drama as Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami on a Honda tangled near the Corkscrew just after two turns. The incident forced Nameless risk on track, but Maverick Viñales on an Aprilia managed to avoid collision in the chaotic moment.
Despite a zero in the result, Quartararo continues to lead the general standings with 211 points, but Bagnaia is now within striking distance at 201, while Aleix Espargaro sits close at 194. Bastianini, fresh from his fourth win, sits at 163, with Jack Miller and Johann Zarco both in the mix for the title chase. Brad Binder, riding a KTM, holds 128 points, and Alex Rins is next at 108, followed by Jorge Martin and Maverick Viñales tied at 104.
Among other Spaniards in the parade, Jorge Martín finished sixth on a Ducati, Alex Rins came in ninth on a Suzuki, and Alex Márquez placed twelfth on a Honda. Maverick Viñales also crossed the line well within the points, while Pol Espargaró and Raúl Fernández finished fifteenth and twentieth respectively.
