The Alicante Gymnastics Club celebrated a successful season by showcasing its athletes at Spain’s Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held recently in Pamplona. The team’s presence was strong, earning podium finishes across eight events in a field crowded with highly competitive participants, underscoring the club’s growing strength on a national stage.
In the opening day of action, the club introduced a promising young gymnast on Vía Olímpica 1, Julia. In her first national championship appearance, she placed 13th overall among 56 competitors, securing fifth place on the uneven bars and eighth on the floor exercise. The Valencia Community team also earned solid points in the team standings within the Vía Olímpica 1 category, finishing third overall among the participating clubs.
Following the ladies, the men took the floor. In Base 3, Javierín delivered a commendable bronze medal on the rings from a field of 59 contenders, while also achieving sixth on the floor and ninth in the all-around. The category also highlighted Iván, who finished in eighth place on the vault, signaling the breadth of talent within the squad.
In Base 4, Tristán stood out with a fourth-place all-around finish on the cusp of the podium. He earned a second-place finish on the parallel bars, a bronze on the horizontal bar, and a fifth-place on the rings. The team performance was equally notable, with the club claiming third place in the team rankings thanks to the combined efforts of Nico, Hugo, and Tristán.
Another phase of VO3 saw Raúl rise to the podium once again, finishing as the runner-up in the national all-around. He also claimed titles as the Spanish champion on the rings and the parallel bars, and captured a silver on the pommel horse, adding a rich tally to the club’s season résumé.
The success continued with Paula and Martina competing on Vía Olímpica 7, a circuit noted for its elevated level of competition. Paula achieved an eighth-place finish on the bars among 39 gymnasts, continuing the club’s streak of strong performances in high-level events.
In summary, Gimnástica Alicante closed the season with an impressive total of 12 medals, eight secured in Pamplona and four in Lleida during June. The results reflect a concerted program of talent development, dedication, and consistency across both women’s and men’s teams, reinforcing the club’s status on Spain’s national gymnastics stage and highlighting optimism for future seasons in North American markets seeking high-quality, performance-driven gymnastics programs.
