The season ticket drive for Alcoyano is stalling ahead of the upcoming match with Atlético Sanluqueño at El Collao, with only about 600 passes moving despite ten days remaining before the league opener. This result falls well short of the expectations set at the start of the season, the club labeling it as very exciting despite the slow uptake during a third straight year of professional football.”

The disconnect between the club and its broader younger fan base is cited as the main hurdle, complicating the push for fresh public engagement and lower prices. The initiative, born from a dispute over the club’s public pricing strategy, has left supporters puzzled about the direction of the campaign, with Juan Carlos Ramirez identified as a business owner connected to the efforts.

The tension between fan expectations and management decisions resulted in an unusual moment in the club’s history: a joint statement issued amid protests from supporters who felt the pricing was out of step with the market. The dissatisfaction pushed the club to reconsider certain rates and to introduce targeted offers for younger fans.

Options include a 50-euro pass for supporters aged 16 to 21, and a 300-card promotion that originally cost 100 euros, offering substantial savings across different seating sections.

The effort to engage the youngest segment around El Collao did not yield the hoped-for return, and the campaign faced challenges in achieving required attendance levels despite active summer recruitment and a squad designed to compete beyond mere relegation avoidance.

Two weeks into the campaign, about 610 cards had been exchanged at the club offices, a number far below the 1,500 members carried from the previous season and the 2,000 applicants anticipated after the summer’s financial push, reflecting broader economic pressures on fans and the transfer market.

Alcoyano’s 2023-24 season is underway in the league’s first division of the regional system, with Vicente Parras guiding the squad through the final preparations before kickoff. The club’s last pre-season friendly is scheduled against a selection of unemployed players from olive to close the week, ahead of the league’s first match on Sunday the 27th at 8:30 p.m. at El Collao.

Ticket purchasing remains available in person at the stadium office from Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 20:00. Online sales are also open through the club’s official website.
