Hercules’ Argentine forward Agustín Coscia spoke about feeling anxious to return to action after an injury kept him from training and his first team appearance since August. He had been sidelined by an Achilles tendon issue and was only cleared to rejoin the squad last week, which prevented him from kicking off the season with the blue-and-white side.

It seems the moment to debut may come this Sunday against Coscia’s former club, Alzira, with the light at the end of his long recovery tunnel already visible.

“I’m looking forward to helping the team and getting a few minutes to allow the coach to decide when to bring me in,” Coscia said.

Asked to assess the team from the outside, he said, “He’s very good. I love the way he plays, his intensity and ambition. We want to win every game, at home or away. We step onto the field with the aim of being the heroes on the opponent’s turf.”

Coscia explained the past weeks in simple terms. “A player always wants to compete, especially when joining a new club where there is a lot of hard work to do and where you have to give everything. The injury made it tough not to train or play, but that phase has passed. Things look very positive now, and there is a real desire to contribute and perform well.”

“I’m eager to play and to help the team. I can provide timing in the final third and be ready to score for teammates in need in front of goal.”

When asked what he can contribute from the pitch, Coscia replied, “I love this squad. I am a striker who likes to stay in the box, to be part of the decisive moves, to finish plays. I can create chances, convert opportunities, and be on hand for crosses that lead to goals.”

On the current first-choice center forward, Marcos Mendes, Coscia stated, “We have a great relationship with Marcos, Diego, and everyone else. It’s a healthy group of good people. We all want to help the team in the best possible way.”

Regarding the atmosphere at Rico Pérez, Coscia described it as excellent from day one. He recalled his first friendly against UCAM and felt happy with the fans and the stadium. Having played here two years earlier, he still feels a strong connection. He believes the club, the fans, and the venue offer an incredible experience.

Do you approach each game on a play-by-play basis, or do you keep a longer view in mind?

Coscia answered, “It’s always match by match. The goal is to win the home game against Alzira this Sunday and secure three points. The focus is calm and sharp for this crucial day.”

What does he expect from the match? “I play for a team I care about, with many friends and supporters I know. I hope to contribute as a leader on the field, keep possession, press high, and put us in positions to attack and control the play.”

Could this be his first appearance in Hércules colors? “God willing, yes. If not, I will continue to train hard and be ready. When the coach decides, I will do what is best for the team.”

They have won eight of eleven, but opponents Lleida and Badalona did not let them settle in easily. The team must stay mentally strong and relentless. With two-thirds of the league still ahead, the goal is to stay ahead by winning Sunday and the next game. The squad’s mission is clear: win every match and never relax, a sentiment shared across the locker room and reflected in every game plan.
