NVIDIA originally planned to release three top models of GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards, this is the most powerful RTX 4090 model and two RTX 4080 variants with 12 and 16 GB of memory. And now it has become known that the RTX 4080 with 12 GB will not work.

The fact is that the two 4080 models differ not only in the amount of memory, but also in the number of CUDA cores, GPU frequency, power consumption and memory bus width. The difference goes up to 30%, so these cards can hardly be in the same line. It is not yet clear under what name the card will appear, but it will most likely be RTX 4070 or RTX 4070 Ti. It is possible that the specifications will also be changed to better fit the other category.

But the GeForce RTX 4080 with 16 GB GDDR6X memory will be released on November 16. This card is equipped with 9728 CUDA cores and a 256-bit bus. The suggested retail price is $1,199 (just over 75,000 rubles).

By the way, previous RTX 4090 cards appeared on sale in Russia, but they were dismantled almost immediately.
