Intel will rename the entry-level Pentium and Celeron chips. Instead of popular names, they are now simply called Intel processor. This innovation will affect laptops, but it is not yet clear whether the desktop chip renaming is also planned.
We are talking about a low-performance CPU, and the company has made such a decision to simplify the task for the buyer when choosing cheap laptops. It also allows customers to focus on the flagship brands Core, Evo and vPro.
Note that the Pentium trademark has been used since 1993, and Celeron since 1998. Also in the company’s range there are energy-efficient Atom solutions, but they have not yet been abandoned.
