NVIDIA and Mediak are preparing to perform with presentations on the Computex 2025 exhibition, in the context of which it is supposed to show new joint developments – processors for desktop systems and laptops. We are talking about chips based on poor architecture, which were previously discussed in the context of cooperation between two companies. Now there is reason to believe that the official announcement will take place in May.
MediaTek is expected to demonstrate its strategy for the import of the PC market in combination with Nvidia. According to available information, we can talk about chips with code names N1 and N1X, which are simplified versions of the GB10 already presented. This chip, mainly designed for professional workstations, uses a hybrid structure of CPU based on grace of Nvidia and GPU Blackwell architecture, and is also equipped with a considerable amount of RAM and constant memory.
It is expected that new versions of processors will receive less resource -intensive characteristics, making them more suitable for the mass segment. Instead of 20 cores in GB10, in the options for the PC of the consumer, it will probably be from 8 to 12 cores, and the amount of RAM will be reduced to 16-32 GB. Various GPU configurations are also possible, depending on the target market segment.
MediaTek production plans, according to reports from sources from the industry, include all the booking of significant quantities of capacities at the ASE Enterprise, which deals with the assembly and testing of microcircuits. We are talking about packaging FCBGA, characteristic of desktop solutions. Although the specific conditions of the appearance of chips that are for sale are not yet called, sources indicate the chance of delay until 2026 due to unsolved technical problems. Nevertheless, the fact of demonstrating new solutions on the Computex 2025 can be an important step in promoting alternative processors based on arm for Windows systems.
