Analysts found signs that AMD intends to expand the support of the AM5 -Socket for future processors. Based on the data from open sources, including updated company bases, the platform remains relevant for the Ryzen 9000G of the Gorgon Point Series and the EPYC 4005 Grado series. This allows users to update systems without replacing the motherboard.
Ryzen 9000G is expected to receive the Zen 5 architecture and the updated RDNA 3.5 images. This APU will become successors of the current Strix Point models and will probably be aimed at Desktop -PC. Together with them, AMD prepares three options for chips, the details of which are not yet announced.
The technical documentation of AMD also discovered the mention of professional processors Ryzen Threadripper Pro 9000WX (Codenaam Shimada Peak) for workstations. However, models for enthusiasts (Hedt) are not yet in the lists that can indicate their later release. Special attention is drawn by the Medusa Point platform and combines Zen 6 and RDNA 3.5 in FP10 layout. It is associated with the tasks of AI and Machine Learning, which emphasizes the AMD focus on the development of computer technologies.
According to Portals, the announcement of the novelties can take place as part of the Computex 2025 exhibition. At the same time experiments with company architectures: in budget mobile devices, the use of arm solutions is considered and the ZEN rate is maintained for high-quality chips.
So far, AMD does not comment on the deadline, but updating internal sources indicates an active preparation for the release. The emphasis is on the continuity of the platforms, which can be an important argument for users who plan the upgrade of systems.
