At the Llamacon conference organized by Meta*, the chapters of Microsoft and Meta discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence in making software code. Satya Nadella said that 20-30% of the code in Microsoft projects is already generated by algorithms, and this share continues to increase. According to him, the AI performs a few tasks completely, without human participation.
Mark Zuckerberg, in turn, did not mention the exact figures for Meta, but revealed the plans of the company: during the year, AI should assume about 50% of the development of new versions of LLAMA models. The trend of programming automation is observed at other large companies. In Google, for example, AI generates more than a quarter of a new code. Shopify and Duolingo also revise the approaches of adoption, give priority to tasks that do not yet fall within the power of algorithms.

Experts note that technology such as Microsoft Copilot or OpenAi tools are the standard in the industry. The recent OpenAI negotiations on the purchase of a windsurf startup, which develops a system for making applications according to a text description, confirm interest in further automation.
Predictions vary: if the technical director of Microsoft Kevin Scott suggests that AI will generate 95% code by 2030, Zuckerberg talks about more cautious, but still a considerable pace. One thing is clear – the algorithms change all the approach to development, reducing routine work, but so far not completely replace specialists who remain crucial for difficult tasks.
