Meta*, known for the integration of AI into its social networks, released a separate application – Meta AI. This is a step towards competition with chatgpt and similar services, but with the emphasis on personalization. The application is already available in the US and Canada, and the most important function is the use of data that users have left on Facebook and Instagram for years.
Unlike other Aissstros, Meta AI analyzes profiles, likes, interests and even the history of correspondence. For example, if you inform the bone of allergies to peanuts, he will exclude Asian restaurants with arachy sauce while planning dinner. Or, knowing that you love to follow, he will offer routes for vacation in the mountains. However, such ‘consciousness’ raises questions: Meta earns on targeted advertisements and it is not clear how this data will influence the adjustment of ADS.
Discover Tape – An analogue of social networks within AI appeared in the application. Here you can share the creative results of dialogues with a bone: for example, convert a description of your character into three emoji and send friends. Publications only appear with the consent of the user, but experts fear that the tape will provoke a wave of memes or new trends, such as “Anime Avatars” – as has already happened with filters for the photo.
The main question is whether users are ready to entrust the algorithm for their preferences and phobias, knowing that Meta can earn with this information. Meta does not report a global launch, but if the tests in North America are successful, the application can be a new turn in the and technological race.
