The Russian Olympic Committee (OKR) President Mikhail Degtyyarev, the Minister of Sports, said that collective responsibility is unacceptable due to discrimination in the national, racial principle in sports. He spoke about this at the International Ethnosport Forum in St. Petersburg.
“National, racial principle due to discrimination in the collective responsibility cannot be accepted simply. Therefore, we welcome the efforts of the World Ethnosport Confederation of National Sports Confederation, regardless of any political process.”
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) objected to international sports federations and proposed Russian and Belarus athletes to prevent any competition. At the end of 2023, the organization decided to allow the Summer Olympic Games of the Russians and Belarus as a neutral athlete. A total of 15 people went from Russia for games in Paris, there was no boxer among them.
