Intel has announced public access to AI Playground – an open code aimed at the owners of ARC video cards and hybrid processors. With the solution you can create images and texts using popular neural network models. The GitHub project supports the basic versions of stable diffusion, but users can integrate third -party algorithms. To download models, a simplified interface is provided and their addition takes a few minutes.
Unlike analogues such as LM Studio, AI Playground, it is originally optimized under Intel -Grafic images, including integrated solutions in Meteor Lake processors. In the future, the platform will receive compatibility with Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake chips, although the exact deadlines are not specified. The size of the application is 700 MB, but it can increase when installing extra models. According to the developers, the most important task of the project is to reduce the entry threshold for generative AI for PC users without powerful discrete video cards.
With the opening of the source code, the community can expand the functionality independently. It can also contribute to the appearance of adjustments to the third parties that support the GPU from other manufacturers, although officially Intel does not comment on such scenarios. The solution appeared against the background of competitors: AMD, for example, collaborates with Stability AI to adjust II models to its accelerators. AI Playground, however, distinguishes itself by a focus on the local performance of tasks, which is relevant to users who avoid cloud services.
Although the platform remains at the stage of active development, but the accessibility and modular structure have already attracted the attention of enthusiasts who test the possibilities of AI for a weak gland.
