The technical characteristics of the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE have leaked into the network. The device becomes the third in the RX 9070 line and will take a position between the flagship and more affordable models. According to insiders, the novelty receives a graphic chip navi 48 with 3072 stream processors – 25% less than that of the top version of the RX 9070 XT (4096 SM). The basic clock frequency of the accelerator will be 2.79 GHz, which yields performance at 17.1 Tflops in FP32 operations. For comparison, the standard RX 9070 shows about 18 Tflops. The manufacturer also allows the production of changes with overclocking the factory, whereby the frequency can reach 3 GHz.
The volume of the video memory is reduced to 12 GB GDDR6 with a 192-bit tire, which reduces the transit to 432 GB/s (memory speed-18 Gbit/s). This distinguishes GRE from the basic version of the RX 9070, where a 256-bit tire is used. According to experts, such changes will enable the company to offer a product at a more affordable price. Remember that the starting value of the RX 9070 was $ 549 (around 45,000 rubles).
At the same time, AMD prepares another model for the release – RX 9060, which will take the lower step in the ruler. It is expected that both video cards will be announced in the coming months. The announcement can be the company’s reaction to the growing demand for devices of the average price segment. Analysts note that the GRE version is suitable for users who are looking for a balance between performance and costs, so that excessive characteristics of top solutions are avoided.
