Android devices owners gained access to Gemini Live functions, which were previously only available by Gemini Advanced subscription. This was announced by the company in his official account on the X platform. The innovations enable Aissists to analyze images of the screen or camera of a smartphone, so that daily problems are solved.
Now users can activate the facial resilience mode via the Gemini tab or use the camera in the full -screen application -interface. For example, an assistant can recognize the ingredients in a culinary recipe, determine the type of plant or insect and analyze information via the camera. In addition, Gemini can scan pages that are opened in the browser – for example, find analogues of goods at a lower price.
The Astra functions project presented on the I/O 2024 conference were originally tested for subscribers to a paid rate. According to Google, the decision to gain access to all Android users is associated with a high demand for technology. The implementation of the update will be gradual and will end in the coming weeks.
To use new functions, you must update the Gemini application via Google Play. The assistant works on smartphones with Android 12 and higher. It is noted that the Gemini service is still not available in Russia. Activation of the assistant on devices in the region is possible when using VPN services, but official support is not provided.
